Dethroning season!

Well, this year looks like more of causing tremors under the seats of reigning champions. First it's for Australian Cricket Team who have been largely untroubled by any other Cricket team lost a Test match comprehensively by India, and then it's Rafa being comprehensively beaten by display of sheer power and skill by Tsonga and now, Roger Federer takes the heat.

Considering the case of Australia, they have dominated the last decade or so not only in the Test Matches but in all forms of cricket. Four year back, India showed lot of heart by drawing a series in Australia. Now, they have built on that platform to rock back the Australians this year again by beating them in Perth, supposedly Australia's happy hunting ground! Though it is too early, we can say that Indians are turning the tables very fast to become one of the best test teams in the world usurping the number one position from hands of Australia in their own DEN!

Not far away from the cricketing action where dethroning ceremony has started, its waves have passed on to Melbourne where Australian Open is being held. Initially, it is Tipsarevic who gave a slight shudder to Federer who is lucky to have come safe after that match, couldn't find his form in the just finished semi finals and lost it in straight sets. Novak Djokovic has always believed and preached the whole preceding week that Federer is beatable and has proved it himself. In a display of brute skill and power, he outplayed Federer in all the sets and has given himself a very good chance of winning a grand slam!

No one has given, Tsonga any chance of winning against Nadal in an Australian Open semi finals. But, as it is dethroning season, Tsonga came up with a performance that none can match to upset Nadal to set up a title clash with Djokovic. It's been so long since either Federer or Nadal hasn't been in the finals of a Grand Slam, that I dont recall a scenario happening after Federer won his first grand slam! But it's time for the monarchs and champions to be brought down and this season proves just the same. Wait for the finals of Australian Open to see whether Tsonga continues his prime form to bring up an yet another upset win to win his first Grand Slam title and let the time tell whether Indians can pull off an another victory over Australia at Adelaide to level the series!
